News about TOLERANT products (December)

Any software is only as good as its latest update. Here is the news about our products.

Current versions of the products

Our products are currently available in the following versions:

TOLERANT Bank 4.0

TOLERANT Match 4.0

TOLERANT Move 4.0

TOLERANT Name 4.0

TOLERANT Post 4.0

Highlights

At the beginning of December, the new main release 4.0 was published for all products.

The German and English manuals of all products were revised and updated.

Besides many improvements “under the hood” the following new features were introduced:

Already during the installation of the products, you can now configure HTTPS for a service. Furthermore, it is now possible to register multiple service instances as a Windows service under different names.

For TOLERANT Post Batch, the corresponding alternatives can now be written to a file in case of ambiguous addresses.

The TOLERANT Match Service now supports index access by specifying a regular expression in addition to deletion via regular expressions. In this way, internal data of the index can be queried whose keys correspond to a given expression.

The internal architecture of TOLERANT Match Batch has been optimized to better exploit the parallelism of the available hardware. In addition, for TOLERANT Match Service, the runtime for loading the initial data has been reduced.

For authentication and authorization of TOLERANT product usage, integration into an existing security infrastructure via LDAP is now possible.

New Java version

After April 2015, no further public updates for Java 7 will be provided by Oracle. For this reason, all TOLERANT products have now been upgraded to Java 8.

Discontinuations

Until Release 3, the Java API libraries shipped for TOLERANT products are compatible with Java version 1.4. We have now abandoned the dependency on this far outdated Java version and switched to a newer Java version (version 6).

The TOLERANT products are used on different platforms. Especially for productive use, these are today exclusively platforms with 64-bit architecture. The application possibilities of the 32-bit versions of the products for Windows and Linux, which were still offered until Release 3, are severely limited. For this reason, they are no longer supported as of Release 4.
